About
The Pando Initiative — Reality U
Reality U is an interactive financial literacy simulation offered by The Pando Initiative to help students understand the real-world impact of education, budgeting, income, debt, savings, and financial decision-making. Volunteers help bring this engaging experience into local schools so students can explore financial life skills and see how their school choices relate to future financial outcomes. The Pando Initiative connects students with supports that help them thrive in school and beyond.
Volunteer Opportunity:
Volunteers help facilitate the Reality U financial literacy simulation in partner schools (elementary through high school). During a 75-minute session, students imagine their future adult lives and navigate budgeting decisions — tracking income, expenses, loans, and daily living costs through interactive stations. Volunteers may guide students through portions of the simulation, support small group conversations, and help students reflect on how education and financial choices connect to long-term well-being.
